Take the idea of the surfer sleeping on the beach to its literal extreme with the Wave Cave ($260-$320). This combination surfboard case and tent can carry your boards — up to four of 'em — safely from your latest crash pad to the ocean, where you can remove the tent from its dedicated pocket, clip it to the bag, and zip your way around to create a protective shelter, while the padding that kept your boards cushioned earlier now makes for a nice place to lay your head. Note: does not protect against high tide, or crab infestations.

The Numark DJ2Go ($60) is a small — think keyboard-sized — DJ controller that connects to your laptop over USB, letting you DJ an entire set using real controls while carrying nothing more than your laptop bag. Features include two platters, a crossfader, pitch and level, Deck A, Deck B, Master, and Headphone gain controls, and compatibility with nearly any MIDI-compliant software. Finally, a reasonable excuse to bring your laptop with you to the club.

We've found our Halloween costume. Feast your eyes on the officially licensed Scorpion Jacket ($160) from Drive. Just pair it with some driving gloves, splatter on a bit of blood, and pop in a toothpick, and you're on your way to being the coolest dude at the party. Hopefully, they can get this thing shipped before the 31st.

"Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life," Jobs said. "Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary."

And you thought a matter of months was a long time to wait for a concept car to become real. The 1969 BMW Spicup has been hidden away for over 20 years — after nearly as many years of use — only recently rearing its futurism-from-the-past head at an auction. Features include a 2.8L SOHC straight-six engine, a retractable roof — novel for the time — designed by Enzo Cingolani, and a completely restored body and interior that replaces some... interesting design choices, such as rust-friendly untreated metal body panels and termite-attracting wooden bumpers.
